Flo

Health & Fitness

Source-backed from Flo Privacy Policy

This report covers the Flo Privacy Policy and the two notices the policy points people in the United States to: the Supplemental Flo U.S. State Privacy Notice (effective as of 13 November 2025), which applies to residents of certain U.S. states, and the Consumer Health Data Privacy Notice (effective as of 9 April 2026), which applies to residents of Washington and Nevada. The state notice says that under certain state laws (for example, California) disclosure of personal information to third parties may be deemed a “sale”, and that the disclosures it means do not include health information. It does not cover Telehealth Services, which the policy and the Consumer Health Data Privacy Notice both say they do not apply to and which are covered by the privacy notices of the relevant telehealth partners; those were not reviewed. Nor does it cover Flo’s Cookie Policy, Terms of Use or Anonymous Mode FAQs, which the policy refers to; these were not reviewed for this report.

Biometrics If you agree to both, Flo's skin scanner captures your facial contours on supported devices

What this means

Flo says that if you agree to both its consent request and your device's camera permission, on supported devices it uses TrueDepth camera APIs to capture facial contours in addition to a standard image for its skin scanner.

If you agree to both, on supported devices Flo uses TrueDepth camera APIs to capture your facial contours in addition to a standard image for its skin scanner.

Why this matters

This reads the shape of your face, not just a flat photo.

What the policy says

If you agree to both, on supported devices, we use TrueDepth camera APIs to capture facial contours in addition to a standard image to provide skin scanner functionality. Your device’s camera captures your facial image and measures an area of focus from your image for analysis.

What you can do

No setting found that directly changes this practice.

In the Flo documents we searched for this finding, we did not verify a setting that changes this specific practice.

A broader option is available

Flo says that regardless of where you live it is committed to providing the same privacy rights afforded under the GDPR, and that you can ask it to delete your personal data at any time. Flo's Consumer Health Data Privacy Notice, which applies to residents of Washington and Nevada, says you can request that Flo delete your health data and withdraw your consent for its collection and sharing of your health data, and that because its services rely on your consent, withdrawing it will require you to delete your account.

That is a wider action rather than a privacy setting for this practice — it changes more than this, and it is not the same as turning this off.
